Why N1 TOGA ????

Well there you have it..this is the picture of the 737-400 EADI (Electronic Attitude Display Indicator). This is just a snapshot of the wilco's PIC 737 for flight simulator 2004.As you can see in the red circle, the entire row is called FMA (Flight Mode Annunciator). There are 4 columns, the first column is for the thrust mode, second is for pitch mode, third is for the roll mode and the last is autopilot mode.By looking at the FMA pilots will know what modes are the aircraft in now and what the plane is doing. As you can see in the picture the first column shows N1 which means the Auto Throttle are commanded to set the take off thrust(full or reduced thrust as set in the FMC).The second column shows TO/GA (Takeoff/Go-around),some may be asking why is it in the pitch column well it is there because during takeoff the thrust will maintain the N1 value as in the FMC and the only way to control speed is by pitch,so in the Takeoff Mode (TO/GA) the pitch will be commanded to maintain a speed of V2+20 knots. It will take a full course just to explain the details and I think this suffices...come on, go and open up your manuals hehehe...
(thanks didi for the correction.)

Balik Kampung !!!!

This video was taken on my old handphone, the nokia 6630.I can't remember when it was taken but it is during my Solo NAVEX from WMKL to WMKP on the Diamond 40 aircraft also known as mosquito in the airline, hehe . Actually I was flying over my house (terrace house in the video) and it is near KOMTAR, for me NAVEX (Navigation Exercise) is the best exercise where we get to plan and fly over new places,it's quite interesting for me

Simulator Training

MAS 737-400 Simulator (SIM 2)
Before we get our hands on the real aircraft every pilots need to be trained on the simulator and what are we trained here? well every pilots are expected to be competent when handling the aircraft through normal flight and when some serious shit happens or in other word, emergencies.Initially we will be doing our Flight Management System Trainer (FMST) for 4 sessions and each sessions is 4 hours (2 hours each, you and your partner) after that we will be going through FBS Fixed Based Simulator for another 4 sessions and then the real funs begins, the FFS (Full Flight Simulator) where we will have full motions and a hell lot of emergencies to handle. The FFS is a total of 11 Sessions and after that there will be the CofT (Certificate Of Test) this is like an exam where we must fly from KUL to JHB and carry out any emergencies given by the Instructor.

Briefing Room 737-400,This is where we do our pre and post flight briefing,we will discuss about our simulator session with the instructor. After every session, instructor will let you know whether you passed or failed your session..In the picture is my Sim Partner

Need Power???

Ever wonder how does pilot control the speed of an aircraft, well as shown in the picture that is the control stand. As you guys may already know that the 737-400 have 2 engines,if you seat at the pilot's seat you will have your number 1 engine on the left and number 2 on your right, that is what the numbers in the picture means if you push forward on the number 1 thrust lever it will only power the left engine and you will be flying side ways,we surely don't want that.
Maybe some will wonder what is the red light, well the red light is an indication of your parking brake as in handbrake in your car, when the light is illuminated that means that the parking brake is on or set

Life In HMA

This is pictures of us during our training in Langkawi (HMA)

SEP (Safety Emergency Procedure)

Pictures of us during the Initial SEP training in 2008
MAA,Kelana Jaya.
This is where pilots and cabin crews are trained to operate all the emergency equipment including the escape doors and slides on board the 737-400.It's quite fun when it comes to the slide and pool training.
The Initial class is a 3 days course,we are required to remember the locations of emergency equipment on board at the end of the day, test were conducted and all of us passed with no problems.
For your information we are required to bring our SEP Card whenever we are on duty

I was doing my SNY (supernumerary flight)...
The one in the picture is Capt.Nazri,a nice guy and he don't talk a lot...hehe nice for us cadets..
this flight was on the 5/5/2008

We need to do 15 sectors of SNY flights before we can start our Simulator Training (we also get meal allowances during SNY,jadi kaya sikit la time ni)

Wings Of Gold

Wings that we got from HM Aerospace flying school and from our current company, MAS....
It took us 200hrs of flying on the piston engine aircraft to earn the wing from HM Aerospace....
And once you have joined MAS you will be given the Wings of Gold
nice haaa...hehe
